皇居公园

Nikko Tamozawa Imperial Villa Memorial Park
"Transmitting skills, traditions and culture to the future generations."
- The villa was constructed in 1899 for Prince Yoshihito(later the Taisho Emperor) as a retreat, and was also used by three emperors and three princes until 1947.
- The building is the biggest wooden imperial villa erected in the Meiji and Taisho eras
- Out of 106 rooms, 83 were occupied by th liege and the court ladies, indicating the needs of the large entourage of the imperial sojourn.
- The villa was also used by the present emperor, who came here in 1943 as an evacuee and stayed here about a year while he was still a young prince. Posted by Hello
